This shell is of unknown parentage. The original specimens were found in the
Pinecrest area (3) and are now established in true breeding colonies
in Everglades National Park.

Liguus fasciatus Hybrids of unknown parental descent

The following Liguus hybrids are found in small colonies
within the Pinecrest area. Though some are in mixed colonies they seem
to be true breeding because many specimens are visible within the colonies.

marmoratus x testudineus ??

castaneozonatus x ??

barbouri x castaneous

Liguus f. hybrid
This shell exhibits sutural flammules
typical of testudineus from Brickell
Hammock, Miami.The shape and
base colors are of barbouri and
castaneus of Pinecrest.

This shell exhibits the gloss and
shape of Keys specimens and a

dark or jewel tip typical of the
clenchi of Pinecrest.

This shell exhibits the banding of
barbouri, colors and protoconch of
castaneus and a dark jewel tip of clenchi.
