Discussion of the Liguus fasciatus spp.
The fasciatus is widespread throughout the main Island of Cuba, the
offshore keys and Isla de Pinos (the largest offshore key / island south of Cuba).
The following is a synopsis of information on these Liguus;
type locality, holotype or
paratype depository and publication of description.

Liguus fasciatus cayajaboense Sanchez Roig 1948 -
Type locality: Finca "Mercedes", Cayajabos, Province of Pinar del Rio, Cuba.

Liguus fasciatus cinnamomus Jaume 1954 -

Liguus fasciatus crenatus (Swainson 1821) -
Type locality: Cuba
Holotype: Unknown (Figure ?)
Description: Swainson, 1821, Zoological Illustrations 1: text and plate 58,
figure 1-2 (Cuba) (Achatina crenata).
Note: Considered by some an albino phase of Liguus fasciatus. It is
however, found in discrete colonies as in the above illustrated color series.

Province of Matanzas, Cuba.

Note: Considered by some a xanthic form of L.f. viridis Clench 1934
because of the proximity of the viridis locality/colony.
